Nighthawk offers fully scalable solutions that can be used anywhere from urban to rural environments

DALLAS, TX,  February 10, 2013 – Nighthawk, a leading wireless smart grid solutions provider, announced today that their company has secured an initial order from The Commonwealth Utilities Corporation (CUC) in Saipan, to deliver electric meters with Nighthawk communications technology.

The Nighthawk metering solution will help CUC improve collections and reduce costs.  Some of CUC’s customers are remotely located and some services to these accounts can be very costly.  With its full two-way communications technology, Nighthawk meters will also enable CUC to employ a pre-pay metering solution to improve collections and cash flow.

“We are delighted to partner with The Commonwealth Utilities Corporation and provide Nighthawk’s unique solutions to this community,” said Charles Kitowski, CEO of Nighthawk. “We look forward to better enabling their customers and helping the CUC to manage their costs, improve their customer service and reduce operational costs overall.”

Nighthawk Announces its New Line of Mesh-Cellular™ Platform Meters

Thursday, Jan. 31st 2013

For Immediate Release:

Nighthawk’s new MESH radio electric meters reduce costs for higher density applications

DALLAS, TX, January 28, 2013 – Nighthawk, a leading wireless smart grid solutions provider, has released a new line of wireless (RF) MESH radio meters that work in conjunction with Nighthawk’s existing cellular RF solutions.  These new MESH meters provide a lower cost  alternative for higher density applications with full two-way coverage and a rich suite of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) features.  Similar to their cellular predecessors, Nighthawk MESH meters are easily controlled and managed using Nighthawk’s feature rich cloud-based WebConnect software

Operating in MESH mode enables meters to communicate with nearby units creating a dynamic wireless network.  Nighthawk utilizes the Synapse Wireless SNAP MESH network technology, which provides optimum performance and low maintenance costs for utilities.  The networking technology will subsequently enable electric, water and gas utilities to leverage shared Mesh-Cellular™ infrastructure across an integrated metering network.  Nighthawk’s Mesh-Cellular™ solutions provide utilities with the flexibility of dynamically expanding over time from individual meters to a neighborhood cluster of meters or to a full system wide deployment.  Without infrastructure build-out, utilities can quickly and easily have a full two-way AMI smart meter deployment.

“Our new Mesh-Cellular™  platform meters are so versatile that they can be deployed immediately upon delivery, and offer fast two-way communications without interruption,” said Charles Kitowski, CEO of Nighthawk. “Dense deployments like apartment complexes or downtown city areas can benefit from new MESH radio meters, which offer a most cost-effective AMI solution while avoiding further infrastructure build-outs.”
