June 8, 2015
McWane has an annual scholarship program to recognize children of team members every year, but we’re not the only ones taking note of the outstanding students. Bailey Rutledge, daughter of Manchester Tank Crossville HR Specialty Mishelle Rutledge was recently awarded a scholarship by the National Propane Gas Association for the 2015-2016 school year.
Bailey attended Stone Memorial High School and graduated with honors. She also graduated with distinction after obtaining her CNA license. She has already completed two college classes and graduated with a 3.8 GPA.
Throughout high school, Bailey played volleyball and basketball for 4 years and ran track for 3 years. Two out of the three years she went to state in track competing in the 4x800. Toward the end of her senior year of track, they beat the record for the 5th time by shaving 22 seconds off the school record. By doing this, they made history in Cumberland County by becoming the fastest 4x800 team. In volleyball and basketball #22, she received awards for being on the all district teams and for volleyball she was ranked #4 in the state of Tennessee in her position as a setter. Now with sports being over, she will be attending college in the fall to study to be an occupational therapist.
