Paying it forward to the next generation of technical professionals

McWane team members are constantly looking for ways in which we can assist in the development of the next generation of technical professionals. McWane Ductile Product Engineer Ken Rickvalsky has conducted several interactive sessions around the country and was pleased to have the opportunity to conduct another session at Clemson University on October 3. Ken was joined by South Carolina Sales Representative Eddie Lowe. The session took place in Brackett Hall with 29 junior engineering students in attendance.

W.K. Dickson & Company Director of Strategic Funding & Regulatory Affairs Angie Mettlen recommended McWane Ductile for this training. W.K. Dickson is a community infrastructure consulting organization with offices located throughout the southeast.

Professor of Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences David Ladner generously donated his classroom time to us for this event. Professor Ladner introduced the presentation as, “Bringing to life, in a real-world perspective, the broader concepts we’ve discussed as a class in constructing responsible and reliable water and wastewater systems around the world.”  Based on questions posed throughout and after the presentation, the students in attendance clearly enjoyed not only their studies come to life, but the pizza provided for lunch as well.

These students will play an important role in our future as they make decisions regarding water infrastructure projects.
